Austria Saves The Day and I get to Cook a Red from the Klutina

Ok, it is my first day back from work after an amazing 2 days off. "Jon, you wanna go fishing after work?" "Sure, I just dont wanna do the hill, its been rainin all day." "Cool, we'll fish by the bridge."

I am so happy we did. We get down to the bridge and not much is happening. I go seeif the fishermen down the stream have had any luck. The guy didn't understand me and said his english wasnt good as he was from Austria. We started talking beer and the Alps and I gave him and his brother an Alaskan Amber. I told him it was no Stiegl or Puntingamer, but its a damn tasty beer. He wished me luck and I went back to fishing. No luck for about an hour, and the Austrians were on the way  out. My buddy( Cant even guess how to say or spell name) asked us if we wanted the red he caught. I told him I couldnt. He said he was leaving in the morning ad he had too many to take home. It was a small but damn pretty sockeye. I thought, yummy, cookout. We headed back up to home to create our cookout. I had a couple beers in me so my filetin g skills were not at the top of my game, but oh my that fish tasted awesome. I grilled it after trying some sushimi(eh). I wwas in my happy place, salt , pepper, butter and red. MMMMMMM. Had to this post as it is fresh in my memory. Some of the pics are blurry as i had auto focus off, u get the idea.

So far the Best Day I have had in Alaska: Klutina Jet Boat, Flag Football, Klutina Fishing and swimming, Dinner, Northern Lights

One of the longest and most rewarding days Ive had here in Alaska. Here is the breakdown of the day.

7:45-11:45 Whitewater Jetboat tour up to Lake Klutina . So Fun
12:00-200  Flag Football, So fun people kept joining in.
2:30-4:30 Relax, Got to copper Center to buy beer.
4:45-8:30 Walk down to the Point, down ugly hill, Fish(snagged two, sooooooo close) Jumped in river with buds.
9:00-10:30 Aweswome Dinner in Bar with Fellow Polar Bear Club Buds
10:30-12:15 Nap
12:15-2:15 Northern Light Viewing

One Month Left and I work with the Coolest People Ever!

How Can I say that louder. I will miss working inone of the best groups known. I was crowned Runner-Up Employee of the Month. On this last fishing trip(still no catch) I had more fun than I think I have had in a long time. It was Tom, Joanna, Ben, Kendra and I with a couple beers. Ben and Kendra thought it would be a good idea to jump in the freezing river. We are planning on doing the same if it is just as nice tomorrow. Tomorrow should be a good day, Tom and I hit a jet boat at 745 am, get back at 11ish. Drinkies for lunch, Flag football afterwards. Fishin and swimmin in the afternoon. Life Kicks Ass! It is so beautiful up here all I can do is share the pics.
